How to use.
Here are some recommendations on how to use it:
-Try to start the routes or areas of clipping as low as possible on the horse's body. This will maintain even pressure and achieve a better final result.
-It's recommended to trim against the grain or against the direction of hair growth. This will give a closer cut and make it easier to remove "lines" or unevenly cut hair.
-You will often need to gently pull the horse's skin back or hold the wrinkles flat to help achieve an even cut.
-Areas such as the mane and tail are common areas that can be more difficult to trim. To trim around the tail, you should trim upward, forming a triangle at the base of the tail. When clipping the hair around the mane, you'll want to avoid passing the clipper horizontally below the crest of the horse's neck. To avoid lines and stray hairs sticking out, holding the blade at a perpendicular angle and cutting downward against the hair is the best option.
Tips.
Here are some tips for blade care:
A common problem that occurs during horse grooming is the clipper blade jamming. When this happens, the blade no longer cuts the hair, it simply passes through it. What you need to do is clean that blade with a liquid cleaner. To do this, point the sprayer directly at the blade teeth while it's running and continue spraying while holding the blade at an angle until you see hair dripping from the blade.
-Wipe the blade with a towel and then try using it again. If this doesn't clear the jam, repeat this procedure, making sure to spray it on the parts of the blade that touch metal to metal. If the blade still doesn't work after several attempts, it may need sharpening.
-For proper trimmer maintenance, the blade should be cooled when it becomes too hot. Routinely touch the blade you are using to ensure it is not too hot to the touch.
