It is recommended to perform these steps when using the Magnum Ergo 7"/8" scissors:
-Step 1: Use the right tools. In addition to scissors, you'll need a comb and disposable latex gloves.
-Step 2: Prepare the coat. Bathe the horse the day before, washing the tail, mane, and forelock.
-Step 3: Pull back the mane. Manes can be tricky. To make the task easier, you can work on small sections of hair, in addition to using a comb.
-Step 4: Trim the mane. To do this, use scissors and start with the mane and tail, combing it thoroughly and downward. If the horse shakes its head, comb it again. Starting at the top, hold the scissors at a 45-degree angle, pointing at 10 o'clock. Cut directly at the ends of the mane. Continue making cuts, one next to the other, until you reach the end of the mane or tail. It's possible to remove quite a bit of hair at this step.
-Step 5: Repeat the process. Comb the mane and cut again, this time with slightly shorter cuts. Then, comb and repeat until the mane and tail are straight.
Maintaining the Magnum Ergo 7"/8" Micro-Serrated Scissors
To extend the life of these scissors, it is recommended to do the following:
-Wash your scissors regularly: Soak them in a little cleaning liquid. Then, dry them with a cloth.
-Lubricate the scissor blades: Oil helps preserve scissors and prevents rust. Apply a few drops to the blades to help them glide more easily while cutting.
-Store scissors: In a case or bag that is as airtight as possible. Humidity and air can cause rust.
